20/06/10 Press Release for Achtung! Cabaret 3rd July 2010

Achtung! Cabaret – The True Blood of the Burlesque Scene in Norwich

Norwich, 20th June 2010 – Achtung! Cabaret is a bi-yearly event showcasing national burlesque and fetish talent in front of an uninhibited and participating audience in Norwich. The performances range from the classic and retro fan dance, to modern, kinkier and sometimes shocking acts.

The upcoming event is held on Saturday 3rd July 2010, from 8pm until late, at the cabaret venue The Talk, on Oak Street. The theme for the night is heroes and villains, both historical and fictional, and all guests are required to dress up. Special performances by Beatrix von Bourbon, Frank Sanazi, Honey Wilde and Vendetta Vain. Music on the night is supplied by resident DJs Mikki and Mz_Pink. Tickets for this event are £12 and are available online from the Achtung! website, from Rock Collection, Lower Goat Lane and from The Talk itself.

Since her performance at the first ever Achtung!, Beatrix von Bourbon has gone on to win the Ministry of Burlesque’s “Best Newcomer 2007”, 21st Century Pin-ups’ “Pin-up Queen 2008” and has been voted one of the top ten worldwide burlesque artists of 2009 by the readers of 21st Century Pin-ups.

New to Achtung! Cabaret are performers Frank Sanazi (runner up of Hackney Empire’s New Act of the Year 2008) with his “diabolically good” cabaret performances, Honey Wilde with her quirky and impressionistic comic creations, and Vendetta Vain with her “gorgeous, playful burlesque.”

Established resident DJs Mikki and Mz_Pink regularly perform around the alternative scene in Norwich. Mikki also DJs at Mostly Harmless, Terminal and Exile, and Mz_Pink also DJed at Chains on Velvet and plays in a band called Queynte.

The event is organised by a group of burlesque enthusiasts under the header of Limited Audience Events. Formerly known as Achtung! Fetish Celebration, Achtung! Cabaret started in 2007 in humble surroundings at The Queen Charlotte, Dereham Road, and – having sold out the previous four events – will now be holding its 7th event on Saturday 3rd July in the 450 capacity main hall at The Talk. Achtung! Cabaret has had the great pleasure to have some of most exciting people in the burlesque and performance area at their past events, and the upcoming heroes and villains event will be no different.
